Death certificate states he died of chronic __ pneumonia (condition present for six years).
The certificate also states that his mother and father were born in Ireland but that he was born in Vermont (but had lived in New York since he was about 10).
Age was give as 40 years, 11 months, 11 days. Since he died on 12 Oct 1880, his birth date would be 1 Nov 1839.

May have lived at 3rd Ave and E 120th St. (1880 New York City Directory)
